Payroll Accountant I
This position supports the Accounting Department and overall corporate operations by assisting in the development, implementation and administration of various corporate financial, general accounting and/or employee benefit programs.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Thorough knowledge of standard accounting procedures, as well as all relevant Federal, State and local tax requirements.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Payroll Accountant I
This position supports the Accounting Department and overall corporate operations by assisting in the development, implementation and administration of various corporate financial, general accounting and/or employee benefit programs.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Maintain payroll and general ledger integrations between ERP systems.
- Sync payroll timecards and payroll journals between ERP systems
- Reconcile payroll registers and payroll journal postings to the general ledger.
- Reconcile payroll job cost journals to payroll journals and resolve coding variances.
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts to the general ledger and research outstanding items.
- Record payroll-related journal entries, including labor cost journals/adjustments.
- Maintain team member master list/setup to support accurate payroll posting (including employee groups and pay settings).
- Reconcile other key general ledger accounts, as assigned.
- Assist in internal and external audits (payroll support and related reconciliations).
- Provide support to and cross-train in other accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing, as needed.
- Complete finance and accounting special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed.
- Support operations personnel by addressing payroll accounting inquiries and issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / business required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, general accounting and/or audit.
- Experience within the construction industry preferred.
Thorough knowledge of standard accounting procedures, as well as all relevant Federal, State and local tax requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintain strict confidentiality of corporate and employee information.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, internally and externally.
- Operates with a strong sense of urgency, and a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with other individuals.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, general accounting and/or audit.
- Experience within the construction industry preferred.
- The range for this position has been established at $59K to $83K salary and is U.S. Engineering good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
